Whoa!! Day 13 almost got the most of me..

WOW!!! Being a Saturday and having the kids this weekend, I almost ran out of time to do something for the challenge today.  I met a friend for coffee this morning (great conversation, great latte and yummy oatmeal too)..while waiting I found this fun magazine called SKIRT! click the link to see it, it is colorful, full of fun things for women in Raleigh, NC.  I brought it home and cut out some of the images to use in my Altered Book, plus added some of what I had.  I left the right side image there in the middle from the original art from the book..I felt a little rushed due to time of day, but got most of it done.  The first pic didn't turn out real clear still having photo issues (well it's probable more the user of the camera then the camera..lol.)..Hope everyone is enjoying their day of creating and making memories..

Dragonfly Meets Metal..Day 12 Challenge..

I am back today creating jewelry.  My friend came over to look at my little stash of goodies and put a small little pile aside of things she liked and said create something for me.  She gave me ideas as to what she was looking for so I kinda went with that and my own imagination and came up with this necklace. The pictures don't do it justice. The jewels are so vibrant and pretty, and the little dragonfly you can barely see.  I used vintage chain and crystal beads and flower elements. I think it needs a little bit of a dangle (remember from previous post, I have a thing for dangles).

Now I will go back to that little pile of goodies and see what else to create..hope she likes it..

So blessed..Day 11 of Challenge.

Today I went out to run the miles I needed to run for my training.  With ipod in hand and the determination to finish this today without sucking wind.  I hit play and hit the pavement.  When I run I take in all my surrounds, I  look at the trees, leaves, people, dogs I do alot of talking to God at this time as well.. Half way through my run,  the Lady Antebellum song "When you got a Good thing" comes on.  I have listened to it a 100 times, but today it hit me like never before, maybe cause I was in tune today.  I have come from so much pain and hurt with my ex husband leaving me a few yrs back and other things (crazy as it seems we are still good friends).  But in the midst of the hurt and pain, I found a way with God's help to forgive.

In that pain I found the most incredible man who now is my husband for almost 2yrs.  I am so blessed beyond words, he is everything to me, he loves me so unconditionally and with passion.  God I love this man.. This song just about brought me to my knees today as I reflected from where God brought me.  I am a blessed Girl...thank you God.

In my run I decided to make this little bitty journal to journal the moments in my training/run that God shows me things that I might not of seen before.

I love this morning Latte..
Until tomorrow many blessings..

Latte and Happiness, Day 10

I decided to work on my Altered Book today.  I pulled out my box of different papers and start sifting.  I am such an addict of coffee, so I thought the coffee cup was fitting.  I also love the outdoors and seem to be the most content when I am outside.  Today was a little of a challenge for me, it seems I put so much pressure on myself to get it done before I left for girls night at church that I felt like I just kinda put it together.  I feel I could do so much more with the pages.  But this is what it is, so I take peace in it.  I am hoping to work on it a little more. I too want to work with some water colors as well.  Decisions Decisions ;-)..

I am enjoying the weather right now here..so I am trying to enjoy that as well.  I have been spending some great time with my dear friend Missy and lovin it to pieces. She is very inspiring and encouraging, God has blessed me with her in my life..Love My Missy..until tomorrow. Peace..

Believe..Day 9

I love metal, specially copper and silver.  I decided to try this bracelet idea I had. I got the silver bracelet awhile ago and have been looking at it trying to decide what to do with it.  One of my favorite words is Believe (but my fav is Faith)...I had some left over copper from other projects so I thought I would try this.  I had a couple of mishaps, with trying to attach the copper to the silver.  But finally got it to attach, with some grunting along the way. This picture is the before it was all put together, then the after product.  Well today was the official day of starting my training for my marathon.  I ran 3 miles and sucked wind the last block but I did it. Tomorrow is Yoga day, which I love, helps keep me grounded.  Off to prayer night at church..so until tomorrow...wishing all Many Blessings!

Into Dangles..Day 8 of the Challenge..

First and foremost I want to thank everyone who has left comments.  I appreciate it so much, you all are the best and your support means alot.  I have seen some amazing things on this challenge.  There are so many talented people, it would be so much fun to meet in person at a convention to see some of the art in person.  Today I went to a couple of my favorite hideaways where I look for treasures. I love to find things that are old and create new.  I too right now have a thing for dangles, so I put this together from a chain belt and vintage pair of earring to come up with this.

I am working with more metal too, I am hoping to make a cuff in the next day or so..This challenge is alot of fun.  I am truly enjoying it.  But I do get wrapped up a little in wanting things to be perfect, I know this is not reality all the time,  so this challenge does help with that.  I am off to go look at all the other blogs in the challenge.

Seeing Green...Day 7..

This has been a great weekend with my mom in town. Tomorrow she heads back to cali, I know she had a great time here.  We went to many fun places, on our adventures I found this green crystal at the antique store Suzanna's Antiques, I then took pieces from other items (little spoon, small heart and a heart locket) I had and made this upcycled necklace.
I am hoping to get more work done in my altered book it was nice getting it out and working on it.  My mind is cluttered with all the things I want to work on but I do need to focus. Maybe it would be a good idea to write them on a piece of paper and put them in a jar and pick one out each day. I think I will do that.  I am off to bed it has been a long day...Until tomorrow, many blessings.
